Who regulates TanagerFX?

TanagerFX is the trading name of The Currency Cloud Ltd which is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK to provide international payment services.

The Currency Cloud is a fintech firm that is working to change the way that international payments are made. The firm has an experienced management team comprising leading figures from the financial services industry and is backed by a number of investment companies including Anthemis Group, Atlas Ventures, Notion Capital and Xange Private Equity (the investment arm of La Poste, the French Post Office). How safe is my money when I send it to The Currency Cloud?

All client funds are held in segregated trust accounts at tier-1 institutions. Banking partners include BAML, Barclays, SEB and Bank of Valetta.  Funds are only held for as long as it takes to settle your forex transaction and make the onwards payments.

How do I set up a new account?

Follow the link from the Home Page to Set Up a New Account. You have the option to set up a personal or a corporate account. Enter the required information and submit. You will then receive an email asking you to provide more information to prove your identity. The Currency Cloud uses intelligent electronic verification processes to confirm who you are. In some instances you may contacted to provide aditional information – this may be the case if you have not lived in the UK for long or are not on the Electoral Roll.

Corporate applications may require additional information which will include verifying the identity of shareholders, directors and controllers of the company.
